The former president's Family Member Gets Professional Guidance from Golf Legend Woods Prior to Professional Golf Debut
The rising star has considerable online following
The young golfer will have multiple prominent backers as she begins her professional golf debut this Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be the granddaughter of a former US president, was granted a sponsor's invitation to play at the Annika tournament in the Sunshine State.
Her grandfather, a passionate golfer, possesses multiple international courses and regularly competes against Kai.
"He's fairly competent. I shouldn't elaborate but we have competitive games," she revealed.
She mentioned that Trump, who won't be present, counseled her: "Just stay calm."
"My grandpa essentially told me to go out there and relax," she explained.
"To me, he's simply a normal grandpa. He can't make it this weekend. He's focused on presidential duties, so he's somewhat preoccupied."
While still amateur, Kai has played in only three events recently and has the 461st position in the American Junior Golf Association standings.
But she can receive tips from golf legend, in a relationship with her mother.
"He stands as the greatest golfer in the world," the young golfer said.
"Additionally, he's a more impressive person. He suggested me to play, have fun, adapting to whatever happens."
Kai will face several top competitors in professional golf at this tournament, featuring world number two Nelly Korda, England's Charley Hull, professional Thompson and 2023 champion Lilia Vu.
The LPGA mentioned that involving Kai helps introduce golf to new audiences, especially with the next generation.
The social media influencer maintains substantial online presence and recently launched an exclusive fashion and living brand.
Her first tee time at 17:30 GMT.
