Barcelona to Host Historic Match at Upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend
The club confirmed they will play at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in La Liga 30 months since relocating for construction to commence.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available but 45,401 spectators will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. After final construction, the Camp Nou is due to hold almost 105,000 spectators, increasing from the former 99,000. Officials confirmed recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.
Preparatory Events
Barcelona held a public practice at the Camp Nou in early November. They mentioned approval is being pursued from Uefa to play their next home Champions League game versus the German side next month in the renovated venue. They have been hosting matches in the temporary ground.
